Foster a Bird
We are frequently contacted by people in our community asking us to take and rehome their exotic birds. In order to address this growing need, we are setting up a network of foster homes that can look after these parrots while we find them new homes.

At The Friends of the Aviary, we are dedicated to finding the best forever home for each bird in our care!

When we receive a surrendered bird, we will place them with a short-term quarantine foster for 30 days. From there, they will be placed with an individual/family until we find them a permanent placement (a full-term foster). This process gives the bird time to adjust to their new circumstances, gives us time to get them on proper food and start training which gives them stability until their forever home is found.
We aim to provide well-rounded care, including proper nutrition, positive reinforcement training, and socialization to all birds that come into our program.
We will be doing interviews and in home visits of potential foster parronts, so we can be confident that each bird is in good hands.

If you want to start the process of becoming a foster parront, fill out our "Become a Friends of the Aviary Foster Parront" form below!
